Matt & Kelsey

tie the knot in:

The Wedding

The Couple

Kelsey and Matt met in January of 2014. Matt had recently moved back to Santa Barbara from Arizona, and Kelsey was about to start school in town at Paul Mitchell. Both were focused on school and work, but could not ignore the connection that they had. Matt took Kelsey on their first date to Red's wine bar in funk zone, and they have been inseparable since.

The Proposal

Matt took Kelsey for a weekend getaway in Santa Ynez to celebrate their third anniversary. Saturday morning was a picture perfect day on the coast, and Matt had a day of horseback riding (and a proposal) ahead. Upon arriving at Circle Bar B Stables, Kelsey and Matt picked their horses, Traveler and Cream Cheese, and were off. Once they got to the perfect view point on their ride, Matt asked if they could get off their horses and enjoy the scenery. When Kelsey got off her horse and turned around, Matt was down on one knee. After enjoying the moment and the view, the two rode back to the stables and had a glass of champagne to celebrate. Later that day they drove up back to Santa Ynez and called family and friends to share the exciting news that they were engaged!

The Wedding Party

Mr. Jim and Mrs. Debbie Moore

Parents of the Bride

My parents have been married for 44 years, and have raised me with the best example of what a true life partnership is. They have always supported me in everything in life, and loved me unconditionally. And now they are giving me the wedding of my dreams! Thank you for always being my biggest supporters and best friends, and for welcoming Matt into our family with open arms. I love you Mom and Dad!

Ms. Anna Wellman

Maid of Honor

I met Anna in 2007 while in college at NAU in Flagstaff, AZ. We were working at a clothing store together, and instantly became best friends. Not only did we adopt sibling cats, but Anna has been like a sister to me as well. She is my absolute favorite person to call and talk to about life, and we have always been there for each other in life’s ups and downs. We’ve shared so many fun memories together over the years like girls trips to New York, Denver, Seattle, La, and our most memorable for me, to Santa Barbara which started this amazing chapter in my life. Anna thank you for being the amazing friend that you are,and standing by my side as my maid of honor!

Ms. Jaida Mata

Bridesmaid

I met Jaida in 2012 when she moved into the apartment below me. It didn’t take long for me to realize that she would be a life long friend. We share a mutual passion for hair (especially blonde), going to concerts, and brunch. We attended Paul Mitchell together, and have worked at two salons together as well. Jaida has been a big part in the wedding planning, and I couldn’t ask for a better girl by my side everyday and especially on the big day!

Ms. Shannon Slaught

Bridesmaid

I met Shannon a couple of years ago through Matt’s best friend Jake, and we have been close friends since. Shannon is the type of friend who would drop everything to be there for someone she cares about, and I am so lucky to have her in my life. From Sunday funday, to puppy play dates, we always have a good time together. Thank you Shannon for being such a great friend to Matt and I!

Ms. Linx Latham

Bridesmaid

Linx and I met in Colorado in 2010 while attending a local Esthetician program. Not long after graduating I moved to Santa Barbara, and Linx came to visit and fell in love with my new city. About a month after the trip, Linx moved in with me and has been in Santa Barbara since. Living together and exploring a new state are memories I will cherish forever. Linx we will always share our bond of Colorado and all of the silly times together in the apartment on West beach. Thank you for always being there me and being the amazing person that you are!

Ms. Abbie Upham

Bridesmaid

Abbie is Matt’s cousin, and has been like a sister to him growing up. When Abbie and I first met, we instantly clicked and have been close ever since. Abbie’s big heart, sense of humor, and laid back ways are a few of the many reasons I admire her. I couldn’t ask for a more amazing new family member and friend for life. Abbie thanks for always being the biggest supporter of Matt and I, and for being a great friend!

Ms. Caroline Upham

Junior Bridesmaid

Caroline is Matt’s cousin, and Abbie and Spencer’s little sister. Caroline was just 10 when I met her, and I have enjoyed watching her grow into a beautiful young woman over the past 4 years. Caroline and I bonded over our love for doggies, Pinterest, and all things girly. I love our weekly chats, and can’t help but feel like she is the little sister I never had. Caroline, Matt and I love you very much and will always be here for you!

Miss Brooke Harrison

Brooke is two years old and is currently enrolled in preschool. Brooke loves anything pink, playing with her doggie Ace, and wearing twirly dresses. Her recent accomplishments include counting to twenty and using the big girl potty.

Mr. Lindsay and Mrs. Ann Hutchinson

Parents of the Groom

My parents have been happily married for 35 years. Kelsey and I are very lucky to have great examples of successful marriages from both of our parents. Mom and Dad, thank you for giving me so many great opportunities in life and supporting me along the way!

Mr. Jake Jaffe

Best Man

Jake and I met in the 7th grade, and have been close friends ever since. When Jake and I met, it was a bromance at first sight. Even though Jake is attending Chapman University down in La, we remain very close to this day.

Mr. Matt Porter

Groomsman

Matt and I had the pleasure of meeting through Kelsey. We instantly became good friends. Because of our similarities, our friends often joke that we look and act like brothers ( not to mention we have the same name). I couldn’t ask for a better guy to stand by my side at our wedding.

Mr. Mustafa Demir

Groomsman

Mustafa and I met in Tempe while both attending Arizona State University. We worked at the Student Rec Complex together, and would spend countless hours conditions for soccer season and talking about life. Mustafa has a big heart and always keeps us laughing. Even though we live in different states, we have maintained close and Kelsey and I are thrilled he’ll be with us on our big day.

Mr. Tyler Carter

Groomsman

Tyler and I met at Santa Barbara Middle School when we were just youngsters. To our close group of friends, he was known as “cream”. Tyler and I have so many good memories together, including our golf outings growing up, and more recently being in his wedding. Tyler and his wife Teal live in Oregon and have a beautiful baby girl named Sarah that we adore!

Mr. Spencer Upham

Groomsman

Spencer is my not so “little” cousin, and Abbie and Caroline’s brother. He has been by my side for the last 22 years. He has been more of a brother figure to me, and I have loved having him live close the last few years while he’s been in college. Our mutual love for soccer has always kept us close, and Spencer’s sense of humor always keep us laughing.
